Skype video crashes on via s3 graphic card.

Today a quite techy post, most of you won't be interested in it, sorry.
I'm posting this here to help anybody in the same situation.

I have got a fujistu siemens notebook li1705, with via chrome9 hc igm (via VN896 chipset), graphic card.
when I go to video settings in skype 5.3, with my logitech webcam, video is black, then skype hangs and I have to terminate it. always.
reinstalled many times skype 5.3, reinstalled logitech drivers, removed Logitech software.
I installed another webcam.. but as long as a genious at SKYPE thought that their video interface software never crashes.... I can't change the video input as if I keep Logitech webcam disconnected, I get no video source option.
Microsoft style!

I'm actually upgrading the video driver from 7.14.10 to 7.14.14.xxx, after reading this post [on skype forum].

skype developer team: you really made a huge mistake in choosing to show video input options only after running webcam video... which in case of troubles crashes... denying the user the option to change video input source.

SOLVED: I uninstalled skype5.3, cleaned windows skype registry entries, cleaned any skype related folder in my hard drive (used www.voidtools.com everything search engine to find them faster), upgraded via sis3 video driver from 7.14.10.xx to 7.14.14 from VIA website (chipset vn896). reinstalled skype 5.3. from scratch. I rebooted always after any change for safety.

to avoid similar problems, I installed then manycams, ans switched skype video input to it. so , should ever my logitech stuff go crazy, I'll just have a black screen, avoiding a crash on skype.
